Mr. Ralph is a graduate of the University of Chicago where he obtained A.B. & J.D. degrees and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and editor of the University of Chicago Law Review. After graduate school, Mr. Ralph was a member of the Faculty of the Law School, a U.S. Government attorney, and in private practice in Milwaukee. Thereafter, Mr. Ralph became an officer of The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. [NM] in the Law Department [specializing in tax, insurance, real estate, and corporate investment matters], and later was VP and Corporate Counsel of a large multi-line insurance company.
Later, Mr. Ralph joined a member firm of M Financial and was a Financial Representative of NM specializing in tax and estate planning, executive benefits, planned and charitable giving, and developed unique cost recovery strategies for corporations and partnerships.
He has presented lectures on the design and structuring of life insurance for funding of ILITs (trusts to fund estate taxes) to bar associations, law firms and other professional groups, including a presentation at Northwestern Law School to over 200 estate tax attorneys. He is a frequent speaker… e.g. WI CPA symposium on Executive Benefits; keynote address to National Association of Fund Raising Executives on Planned Giving.
Mr. Ralph was one of 10 National Regional Managers [IL, MN, and WI] for First Financial Planner Services, helping firms with management of the practice and with due diligence reviews of the products they recommended. He later had his own RIA and is a Securities Principal. Over the years, Mr. Ralph has pursued advanced designations, including:
In recent years, Mr. Ralph has designed, enrolled, and serviced group term carve-out permanent life insurance plans for the executives of international firms, assisted with business transition and buyout engagements, designed and implemented Executive benefit plans for corporate and professional firms [with cost recovery], and developed estate tax funding strategies for clients in many states.
Besides being a member of Estate Planning Councils and other professional and industry groups, his community efforts have involved volunteer work in religious, youth, literacy, sports, Rotary, and adult education areas. He lives in Florida with his wife, Jacquie, a professional photographer.
